Kingston throws in its hat into the SSD ring with the release of the HyperX Max external solid state drive. Encased in a rugged aluminum case, the drive runs on USB 3.0, giving a peak read rate of up to 195 MB/s and up to 160 MB/s when writing data. It’s way faster than rotating drives – like transferring a 10GB file in 72 seconds. Space starts at 64GB all the way up to 256GB. And since there are no moving parts inside the drive, it’s powered exclusively by the USB port. $TBA.
