Had Peter Jackson followed J.R.R. Tolkien’s original flow from any of the Lord of the Rings books, the corresponding movies would be two days long each (or something like that). The point is, they’d be long. So if you were left wanting on the theatrical releases, you’d be glad to know that there are the Extended Editions on Blu-ray now. Total running time for this collection is 628 minutes, or 10.47 hours for you number crunchers. If you’ve got nothing to do for half a day, this is a good choice when you’re out to kill time. $50.
