We have some leaked images of Lexus’s high-performance IS-F sedan. This car is set to go head-to-head with BMW’s M3 and Audi’s RS4. It comes equipped with a 5.0L V8 engine that produces 400hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Check more pictures after the break.

The “F” designation in the car’s title denotes Lexus’ new performance arm, similar to BMW’s M division or Mercedes’ AMG team. Its designers claim that the new IS-F is capable of completing the 0-60mph dash in less than 4.9 seconds but that the goal in creating the car was not to build a vehicle that’s a competitor to other performance-sport sedans.

In 2005, Mitsubishi revealed the Concept-X model at the Tokyo motor show and its Concept-Sportback model at the Frankfurt motor show. The new Lancer is based on these two concepts. Its aggressive looks attempt to attract younger buyers and sport compact fans alike. There would also be a huge leap on build quality to match the new Civic and the oncoming Corolla and Impreza. The new Lancer will be officially revealed in January 2007 at the Detroit motor show while the Lancer Evolution X will be expected to be revealed in October 2007 at the Tokyo motor show.
