2008 Hennessey Dodge Challenger Turbo: More & Faster

2008 Hennessey Dodge Challenger Turbo: More & Faster
What’s a 0.9 second difference in performance like? Well, as the famous line goes, ask the runner that came in second place, with just a split second difference. Incidentally, 0.9 seconds is also the increase in 0 to 60 mph time between the stock Dodge Challenger SRT8 and this Hennessey-treated HPE600 Turbo. The Texas tuner retains the stock Hemi on the Challenger but gives it some black magic, a turbo to increase the leverage on the car to 620 horses. He also beefed up the suspension and increased the braking power of the car by installing StopTech brakes. The big bump in engine power naturally gives the Hennessey Challenger a lower and deadlier exhaust note; plus the waste gate sound from the turbos when you lift off the throttle will be enough to justify the increase in price from the stock model. $90,000.

The foundation is dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other debilitating diseases that are plaguing little children. Do the right thing, this is one purchase you’ll make that’s sure to make you feel good – the sensation of which will give you chills, knowing you’re helping little angels in the process. $25,000+.

Samson Switchblade: Off The Ground

Samson Switchblade: Off The Ground
Hanna Barbera may be correct after all since we are inching closer to the Jetson’s era. Samson Motorworks is bringing us to the future on a flying bike. Yes, you read it right, it’s a motorcycle transforming into a real airplane. On the ground, it’s a three-wheeled bike with a steerable front wheel and disc brakes all around. With a flick of a switch, it flexes its wings and turns into a real airplane. The 15 and a half foot craft is powered by a 120 hp Freedom Motor twin rotor giving it an 880 mile range. An 8:1 glide ratio in case the engine fails gives the craft ample time and distance in case of emergencies and when all else fails, there’s an emergency parachute to help you land safely. Of course you’ll need a pilot’s license to own the Switchblade but a ground-only version will also be available for those who are afraid of heights. $TBA.

Belkin TuneBase: Plugged Or Wireless?

Belkin TuneBase: Plugged Or Wireless?
Two new TuneBase models are being released by Belkin early this month and in mid-July to control your iPhone while in your car. The TuneBase Direct exploits the feature on newer cars/head units that have the auxiliary input. Simply connect the 3.5mm jack and you can answer your calls hands-free courtesy of the built-in speakerphone or you can control your tunes. The music fades whenever an incoming call is detected – pretty neat huh? The same features are found in the TuneBase FM, only, it’s the wireless version. Instead of using wires, this TuneBase scans the nearest available FM station and plays your music through that channel, or lets your call through. Both devices charge your iPhone so you don’t lose all-too precious battery power on the go. $70+.
