Veritas RS III

Veritas RS III

For a car to be tested at the Nürburgring means that this car is truly amazing. What more if it was built there? The Veritas RS III is powered by a massive BMW v10 engine which builds up 507 horses which translates to about 215mph. This already comes equipped with Recaro seats, Brabham Racing ceramic disc brakes and of course that knowledge of having your car built by hand. For sure this won’t come cheap when it’s available. $TBA.

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo
Porsche once again displays their technological prowess with the release of the 2010 version of the 911 Turbo (or 997 in North America). For the same engine speed, the new 911 now delivers 500 hp and more torque than the car that came before it. Just how Porsche does it is still a mystery, but they’re willing to say that the twin turbos with Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) on the 6-cylinder boxer engine is the key to more power. But the additional pull doesn’t make the car less efficient, as the variable valve timing system makes the engine more fuel efficient and has 18% less emission. More power and better fuel efficiency with a smaller carbon footprint, Porsche definitely makes a great statement with their new car, albeit the same 911 shape. ~$168,000.

2008 Hennessey Dodge Challenger Turbo: More & Faster

2008 Hennessey Dodge Challenger Turbo: More & Faster
What’s a 0.9 second difference in performance like? Well, as the famous line goes, ask the runner that came in second place, with just a split second difference. Incidentally, 0.9 seconds is also the increase in 0 to 60 mph time between the stock Dodge Challenger SRT8 and this Hennessey-treated HPE600 Turbo. The Texas tuner retains the stock Hemi on the Challenger but gives it some black magic, a turbo to increase the leverage on the car to 620 horses. He also beefed up the suspension and increased the braking power of the car by installing StopTech brakes. The big bump in engine power naturally gives the Hennessey Challenger a lower and deadlier exhaust note; plus the waste gate sound from the turbos when you lift off the throttle will be enough to justify the increase in price from the stock model. $90,000.
