New Balance is set to launch it’s very first snowboard boot, in collaboration with 686 and they are calling it the 580. It has a sneaker-like fit to it and features technologies that can be found in New Balance sneakers like Rollbar stability, Abzorb cushioning, and exclusive to the boot, a Boa Focus lacing system and Recco avalanche technology. $300.
The latest release in the Burton Private Stock Collection of snowboards is the 2010, Fritz the Cat. The limited edition board was designed by cartoonist R. Crumb whose character Fritz starred in the first ever animated feature film that received an X rating in the US. This is one naughty pussy cat. The board itself is one smooth ride which features the Channel system, the trendy V-Rocker shape and the curved up edges, nose and tail give it a skate-like feel. $400.
