Shooting video with shaky hands is a recipe for disaster. Shooting video with your iPhone or iPod is even worse. If you’re continuously shooting video from the iPhone 3GS or the 5th Gen iPod Nano, you’ll need a contraption like the iSteady Shot. It’s a camera stabilizer that lets you steady your hand for shake free video shooting. At 9.2 inches long, 12.25 inches high and weighing 1.5 lbs with the iPhone loaded, the iSteady gives the much needed size and weight for you to calm your shaky hands. It’s made of aircraft-grade aluminum, stainless steel and plastic with a two-axes gimbal for a perfect balance and freedom of movement. $100.

It’s a big let down to still use punch cards for attendance and finger prints for identity verification. Any business would look really amazing when installed with facial recognition and time attendance systems. What it does is use 3D facial recognition system to track attendance of employees and also provide access to doors. By 3D we mean that it’s not going to be fooled by holding up a simple picture of a person for an intruder to get access. The system can be setup to recognize and log information like attendance, overtime and even late arrivals for up to 500 different employees, and records can be downloaded to a USB flash drive or accessed via TCP/IP when the console is connected to a network. $480.

The companies GLaDOS and ThinkGeek have teamed up to create the Interactive Portal Shirt. There are two wireless 5.8 GHz video cameras mounted in the front of each shirt along as well as two high-res LCD TFT screens. The way it works it the camera in the orange shirt transmits an image (such as cake) to the blue shirt and of course you can transmit from the blue shirt to the orange shirt. So basically what you’ve got is a functional portal that runs between the two people. $99.99.

If you’re going to spend 1/3 of your life asleep, then you might as well do it the right way. The Zeo Personal Sleep Coach can help you do just that. It has a headband with a SoftWave sensor to accurately track your unique sleep patterns, and a bedside display that shows the time, a graph showing your pattern of sleep phases from the night before, a “ZQ” single-digit representation of the quantity, quality, and depth of your sleep, a count of how long you actually slept and how long it took you to fall asleep, and more. Sometimes, the videos that you watch aren’t for prying eyes so looking at them from an LCD screen is out of the question. Try the Vuzix Wrap 310 and your private viewing will never be more private ever. It takes the form of your average sunglasses except that inside, there’s a 16:9 projection of your favorite videos. The player supports all types of video players including those in your iPhone or iPod and with the detachable noise-isolating earphones, you can drown yourself in your favorite video.
