Nikon 40mm Micro f/2.8G

Like to stick your face and your camera to capture inanimate objects? Nikon released a new macro lens for the budget-conscious. Nikon calls their close-up lenses as ‘Micro’ so don’t be confused. Meant for DX or cropped sensor cameras (D40 to D300s), the new glass has a minimum focusing distance of less than a foot – meaning you can really get up close and personal to your subject. It’s a macro lens but nothing prevents you from using it for general photography. This may not leave your camera once you master its use. $280.
