Bringing more megapixels for clearer pictures and sharp videos to the masses is Nikon with their latest entry-level digital single lens reflex camera. The Nikon D3300 carries a 24.2MP DX-format CMOS sensor in a body that’s both compact and light. After all, nobody wants to lug around a heavy brick of a camera when you’re on vacation or out and about town. The performance is topnotch though, as the camera’s has 100-12,800 ISO rating lets you shoot in varied lighting conditions. Should it get darker than what you’re comfortable shooting, the D3300 can be boosted to ISO 25,600. Backed up by the new EXPEED 4 image processor, your images will be rendered in the highest fidelity possible. Low-light shooting is also helped tremendously by the new 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR II kit lens. And with the 5 fps frame rate plus the 11-point autofocus system, shooting in burst would be a breeze. For the extra-creative types who feel like edition in-camera, there are several effects available like Super Vivid, Photo Illustration and Pop. The D3300 will be available in three colors: black, grey and red. $650.
