The candidate from the center of the planet wins this year’s Miss Earth pageant. Olga Alava of Ecuador was crowned at the recently-concluded beauty contest in Manila, Philippines. Will this mean Ecuador’s spearheading of a worldwide cleanup of the planet? I highly doubt it but if her coronation creates more awareness for the planet’s plight, then we should all definitely support her.
