
Digital cameras are getting better and better with every release of a brand-spanking-new model. The latest mid-level offering from Pentax, the K-7 is loaded with features that will send other manufacturers back into the drawing board to include some of this new model’s new tricks. To satisfy the megapixel nuts, Pentax loaded the K-7 with a 14.6 megapixel CMOS sensor. It shoots at 5.2 fps at photo mode while in video, the camera shoots 1024p at 30 fps. Onboard features include a new dust removal mechanism, an automatic high dynamic range (HDR) generator that superimposes three images at different exposures, an 11-point AF, and an onboard lens correction system among others. A 3″ LCD with live view also comes standard all wrapped up in a weather-sealed, magnesium body. $1,300.
