Getting rid of the usual DSLR parts without sacrificing functionality is the new Pentax Q digital camera. It’s almost the same size as a point-and-shoot but it performs like a single lens reflex and has an interchangeable lens system. Pentax removed things like the AF sensor, mirror box and focusing plane to shave weight and slim down this shooter. The behavior of the 12.4-megapixel CMOS sensor remains to be seen because it’s smaller but it offers a wide ISO range. Stay tuned for more details about the pricing and availability of this new camera. $TBA.
