Carving a new path in the world of digital photography is Sigma with the introduction of the world’s first zoom lens with a constant f/1.8 aperture. The groundbreaking lens features 18-35mm focal length (about 27-52.5 in 35mm speak) with a 72mm filter ring and is designed for cameras with APS-C sensors. So what does the f/1.8 mean to the rest of the world? The large aperture means that the lens allows you to capture more light for better images during darker conditions. It also gives you that incredible depth of field; sharp subjects with blurred-out backgrounds for that nice, ‘dreamy’ look (provided you know what you’re doing of course). No word on price or availability of the lens though. $TBA.
