Honda has just released a new bike for the 2010 lineup called the VFR1200F. It has a 172 horsepower 1237cc V4 engine resting underneath it’s modern bodywork and has Honda’s first throttle-by-wire system and the option of an automatic dual-clutch gearbox. $TBA.

The retro-inspired bike features a beefy, 745-cc V-twin engine that’s been blacked-out to give it a simple yet menacing look. The engine is a fuel-injected variety that’s been fitted with several sensors to give out maximum performance no matter what the road conditions may be. Bobbed fenders, silver accents, and black rims further enhance the throwback look of this affordable cruiser. $8,000.

This November Honda announced the development of the Ecological Drive Assist System, which combines three functions to enhance fuel economy: the ECON Mode utilizes harmonized control of the continuously variable transmission (CVT) and engine to support more fuel-efficient driving. The guidance function on the other hand, uses speedometer color to provide real-time guidance on fuel-efficient driving. And finally the scoring function provides feedback about current driving practices, as well as feedback on cumulative, long-term fuel-efficient driving.
