Designed by Alyce Santoro and Julio Cesar, the Sonic Fabric Neckties are an ingenious design made from 50% colored thread and 50% recorded audio cassette tape. And believe it or not but you can actually hear what was originally on the tape by running a tape head over it. Amazing. The neckties are available in black, dark brown and grey and the widest point is approximately 2″ wide. $90.
The Q2 Cube is a novel idea that came to fruition thanks to the development by Cambridge Consultants and Armour Group PLC. The recently unveiled Q2 Cube Internet Radio doesn’t have any buttons, dials or knobs but instead relies on gravity to change the settings. You can preset four stations and if you want to change the channel you tilt the radio to one of the four sides. If you want to change the volume you move the cube forwards or backwards. No word on price yet but it will be available in the UK in time for the winter holidays. $TBA.
The newest additions to the Nixon headphones line are the Tropper and the Whip. The Tropper comes in gray, black, white, pink or blue and has folding earcups, 40mm drivers and 20-20,000 hz frequency response. The Whip is more of a low profile headphone with a lightweight design for easy portability, 30mm drivers and comes in more funky colors such as yellow, orange and electric blue.
