If you’re in the market for a new affordable modern car, Yaris can be your ultimate choice. The New Toyota Yaris is powered by the 1NZ-FE 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine familiar from the Scions and the Prius. It has 106 horsepower at 6000 rpm, with 103 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm, and drives the front wheels through either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
Yaris will face plenty of competition from the new Kia Rio and Hyundai Accent, as well as the coming Nissan Versa and Honda Fit. The styling is different, especially for the Liftback, which is very much a contemporary European small car in looks.
