Civilization has encroached on the scenery so much that being a nomad is not what it used to be. But for city boys who still feel the need for an adventure, a pocket multi-tool is a must. With the 11 tools in the Victorinox Nomad, you’re giving yourself at least a fighting chance in the great outdoors. It’s almost four and a half inches long and contains a straight blade, corkscrew, can opener, screwdriver, cap lifter and wire stripper among its implements. Very little has changed with the Swiss Army knife over the years, except from a few enhancements on the handle and the tools like the ones on the Nomad. Of course, when I said fighting chance, I didn’t mean that you can have a friendly encounter with a 500-lb grizzly bear with this as your only weapon. $35.
